Charles Nutter of the JRuby team will be in Orlando, Florida February 8th and 9th for acts_as_conference (a great deal for $100). He will be talking about JRuby of course, and according to his blog, "be doing things a bit differently this time (not showing how to build a Rails app, but showing purely how JRuby improves the Rails ecosystem)." This is definitely a not-to-miss talk, and for $100 for a two-day conference, you can't pass it up. See you there!
